What kind of leagues do you have?We offer both 3-D indoor and 3-D outdoor leagues. All leagues are bow hunter class. Classes also include men, women, traditional and kids (5-14). Visit our league page Back to TopDo you have an outdoor range? We offer a 3-D outdoor range. The range consists of of 15 targets, 7 towers with 30 shots, 15 from ground level and 15 shots from elevated towers. Visit our range information. Back to TopHow many targets?Outdoor range 15 targets (30 shots). Indoor range has 10 lanes (4 feet wide) and a roll out target for the kids. This allows the kids to shoot closer but still shoot at the same time as the adults. Back to TopWhat arrows are better?Arrows have changed so much since 2005, but I think it's fair to say that carbon is in and aluminum is on the way out. Carbon arrows are stronger, lighter, and faster. Carbon arrows can be less expensive, depending on the quality of the arrow. I'm a firm believer of you get what you pay for, so don't be fooled, all carbon arrows are not equal. The straightness is a very big deal, along with the weight, depending on what game you might be hunting. Back to TopDo you have layaway? We offer 2 different types of layaways. Bank layaway - put any amount down and take up to a year to pay it off, but we do not pull the product from tour shelves until it half paid for. 30 day layaway - 25% down and 30 days to pick product up.
No layaways can leave the store. All layaways are subject to a 20% restocking fee. There are no charges for interest on layaways.
Back to TopDo you sell things online? At this time we do not sell any of our products online, but if you cannot find a product you need, please contact us and we will be happy to work with you. Back to TopDoes the site have a forum or message board?A forum/message board will be added as the site develops. Back to Top
Which is better, vanes or feathers?Hard call. Both vanes and feathers have their advantages. Feathers are lighter and more forgiving; vanes are cheaper and a lot less maintenance. Unless I was shooting traditional equipment, I would probably shoot vanes, most all new bows accommodate them well. Back to TopAre the crossbows legal for everyone now?In zone 3 (shotgun zone), everyone 12 years of age or older, may use a crossbow in both archery seasons In zones 1 & 2 (rifle zones), the hunter must be 50 years of age or older and can only hunt the first archery season. During firearm seasons a crossbow may also be used.
Additional information can be found on the Michigan DNR website. Back to TopWill crossbows ruin bowhunting in Michigan?I do not believe that at all. I believe crossbows open a new way to hunt. Over the last year I have watched, from across the counter, people who had given up hunting due to health issues, and people who have never hunted before buy a crossbow and license and go hunting. I believe that's what it is all about. Being in the woods and enjoying what God has given us, and if we bag a deer that is a bonus. By the way, no state that has opened a crossbow season has shown a decrease in the deer population. Back to TopBaiting? There will be no baiting in lower Michigan as it stands now. Upper Peninsula is the same as last year.
Visit the DNR website for more information. Back to TopDo you know of any software for archery or bowhunting? Most software can be found directly from the manufacturers. Back to TopScoring 3-D and target?Scoring is based on what organization, club and target you may be shooting. Don't guess, when you get to a range, ask. Back to TopDo you have any target archery leagues? Not at this time. Maybe in the future, as interest develops. Back to TopAre you affiliated with any local clubs? There are a couple great archery clubs in the area, Flint Bowman and Frankenmuth Archery. Back to TopWhat is AMO and IBO?AMO - Archery Manufacturers Organization IBO - International Bowhunters Organization Back to TopWhat type of broadhead is best for bowhunting deer? There is no good answer. If you are shooting light pounds or traditional, cut on impact broadheads work the best. They start cutting immediately so you are not losing energy punching a hole or extending blades. Compound or crossbows, open on impact broadheads work great with little sighting in, not like conventional broadheads. Conventional broadheads do seem to be stronger than open on impact broadheads.
